Jack be nimble, we are not quick.

Jack is getting big and bold. Its only a matter of time before he is far from our reaches in the backyard and head-first into the pond (except that our purchases on this fine Friday evening include a tie-out for the backyard as well as an investment in an 8-week training course). If only there were more pictures, but, it is hard to capture perpetual motion. Here were some attempts.

The Orlando Zoo

We live in a house with a dog and 2 cats. On the pond in the backyard are so many birds (no gator sightings yet!). Saturday morning, we biked to McDonalds for breakfast where we enjoyed hash browns - you know, carbs for energy for the bike home. Along the path, we met 2 turtles and a snake (not so much alive but more in the middle of the road). And, we got home to the bird that runs the neighborhood. These guys seriously walk down the street and expect you to yield. We made a friend...

6 months in Orlando, first trip to Disney.

And, we decided that Memorial Day weekend would be just perfect! In spite of a couple of flattened toes from the parade of strollers, we had an excellent time and didn't wait in any lines. Crazy! 4 hours in the animal kingdom in the morning/afternoon. Home for supper and to check the puppy damage. And, then 3 hours at the Magic Kingdom for a few rides and fireworks. At 1am when we got home, we were all pooped out! Cassie is a trooper. Much more than Ash-wee.

The newest addition...

Jack Doodle. The Dude. 8 weeks old, 8 pounds of crazy. Terrorizing cats and carpets all over Orlando. Soft and furry and the cutest.

Life wasn't the same without a dog. Little did we know that having a puppy is not at all like having a dog. Apparently, you have to teach them the commands. And, did you also know that they pee-pee every 20 minutes? They have no preference as to where. The many books and videos had a lot of excellent information. None of which have we been able to apply. Perhaps our visit next Monday with Petsmart Puppy Training will appeal more to the puppy ignorant!

Nonetheless, I shall repeat. Soft and furry and the cutest.

Oh, no! Twenty-ten!

Well, I guess if I am going to have to turn 30, I should do it properly in Mexico. Of course, it was all a big surprise to me....even better! So, at least I have a tan to go with the gray hair and new decade!!

The last week in April, our favorite furry friend was taken from us way too soon. To know him was to have been loved by him...
